29 JunThe week before Father’s Day weekend, I found out about Banksy. Though his graffiti pops up on concrete walls across the world, he has recently infilitrated the L.A. parking lot and started tagging. So I went hunting.

The city mourns its loss as flowers continue to build against the pop stars vigil on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His death hangs over the city.
The King is Dead

The King of Pop has died. I have very few words to say after the shocking news of Michael Jacksons’ heart attack and subsequent death hit the headlines – there’s nothing that hasn’t been said about the iconic figure that defined a generation and inspired millions.
I hope he rests in peace.

The main residence of Nickelodeon is actually in Burbank, which is about a 30 minute drive from the Nickelodeon studios off of Sunset Boulevard, so the only filming going on at the Nickelodeon studios in Hollywood is for live-action comedies, none of which I can name. The network has changed locations a handful of times, which included the removal and relocation of a time-capsule put into the ground in 1992 to be opened in 2042. The capsule is full of items deemed important to children at the time. What was included? A Nintendo game boy and a VHS tape of “Home Alone” (I fully endorse this choice).

Out of the Closet is a thrift store unique to California. Usually a great place to find a second hand item, it’s also an organziation that promulgates HIV testing and supports people around the world that are affected by HIV/AIDS. During this past election, a store in Alaska (also a thrift store) was found to be using the name “Out of the Closet”; they were promptly sued.

Lights, Camera…You!

Rene Ashton is a beautiful woman. One could speculate that all her time spent behind a camera is due to her profound beauty – a perfect smile, tan skin and tiny physique – but then we’d be missing something, her know-how. No one knows the arduous life of an actor like an actor, and as one who knows, Rene is finally sharing her successful experience with the release of her book titled “Lights, Camera…You!”. The woman is so energetic that most of her friends didn’t know she was writing a book. She didn’t stay holed up in her apartment, instead, she’s just finished filming a commercial. So on Monday night, I went to Lola’s to celebrate the release of her new book. Drinks were $5 (cheap in L.A.!), cake was served and a gift bag was handed to me as I left.
Please make note, the gift bag contained Joico hair products – a shampoo and conditioner that smelled so divine, I felt like I went to the salon (complete with glowing locks afterward).
